Jewellery Replacement Consultants was conceptualized by Ian Furman in 2003. It began operating out of its current premised in Rivonia in late 2004. The business model of JRC was to create a wholesale jeweller accessible to the public.

With the success of the JHB operation, the Cape Town offices followed soon after.
